Influencing factors of copper busbar surface quality

Copper busbar products are mainly used in power, electronics, communication, heat dissipation, mold and other industries. With the development of national economy and the increasingly fierce market competition, users have higher and higher requirements on the surface quality of copper bus products. Surface quality is not only the user’s aesthetic requirements, but also the downstream user’s requirements for product production technology and quality. It is necessary to optimize and improve the process of surface quality factors in the production process to reduce or avoid the surface defects of copper bus.

The surface quality of copper busbars can be divided into three main aspects: smooth surface, smooth surface and surface defects, which are inseparable from copper properties, production process, production management and production environment.

At present, copper busbar billet is mainly produced by continuous extrusion, and the surface of the billet is cooled by coolant + alcohol. A small amount of alcohol is added to the coolant to reduce the oxide and obtain the desired surface. In the process of continuous extrusion cooling, alcohol will aggravate the volatilization with the increase of coolant temperature, and cause the oxidation of blank surface, which directly affects the surface quality and leads to the increase of production cost.

In the process of metal drawing, the friction between the tool and the workpiece surface must be properly lubricated. At present, copper bus drawing is mainly used with traditional stretching oil, because the traditional stretching oil mainly includes mineral oil, volatile oil, borylated soap compound and so on. The mineral oil is difficult to mix, contains harmful and flammable components, is difficult to clean and direct welding and other shortcomings. The volatile oil is flammable and toxic, which has little protective effect on tools, increases the content of volatile organic compounds in the workshop, and seriously degrades the environmental quality.

Improper product protection during the production process, the product directly contact with iron or sharp objects, resulting in the surface of the copper busbar appeared bump defects. The production process planning is not reasonable, the product transport times are many, the product keeps swinging or moving, so that the adjacent copper bus surface constantly produces mutual friction, resulting in scratches and scratches on the surface of the copper bus.

The copper busbar is not tight because of packaging, friction between the copper bus and the copper bus in the loading and unloading, lifting, product transportation, resulting in the surface of the product knock, scratch, especially in the process of transportation generated burn black spots.
