Classification of Copper Alloys: By Alloy System
1. Unalloyed copper: Unalloyed copper includes high-purity copper, tough copper, deoxidized copper, oxygen-free copper, etc. In general, pure copper is also called red copper.
2. Other copper alloys belong to alloy copper. In my country and Russia, alloy copper is split into brass, bronze and cupronickel, then small alloys are divided into large categories.
Copper Alloy Classification: By Function
1. Copper alloys for electrical and thermal conductivity: mainly non-alloyed copper and micro-alloyed copper.
2. Copper alloy for structure: most copper alloys are included.
3. Corrosion-resistant copper alloys: there are mainly tin brass, aluminum brass, various non-white copper, copper-base alloy, titanium bronze, etc.
4. Wear-resistant copper alloys: mainly include complex brass, copper-base alloy, etc. containing lead, tin, aluminum, manganese and other elements.
5. Free-cutting copper alloys: copper-lead, copper-tellurium, copper-antimony and other alloys.
6. Elastic copper alloys: mainly antimony bronze, copper-base alloy, bronze, titanium bronze, etc.
7. Damping copper alloy: high manganese copper alloy, etc.
8. Art copper alloy: pure copper, simple single copper, tin bronze, aluminium bronze, cupronickel, etc.
Classification of copper alloys: in line with the strategy of fabric formation
1. Casting copper alloy: casting, and might be used for deformation processing.
2. Deformed copper alloy: Deformed copper alloy are often used for casting.
3. Cast copper alloy and deformed copper alloy are often subdivided into red copper, brass, bronze and cupronickel for casting.
